Artwork Guidelines & Proofing

ARTWORK

We can import artwork from the following software:

Adobe Illustrator CS5 (.ai)
Adobe Photoshop CS5 (.psd)
Corel Draw 12 (.cdr)

We prefer vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .cdr), but we can also use raster artwork (.tif, .jpg, .gif, .psd, and .bmp). These files should be saved at 300 dpi or greater.

When our customers use AutoCAD, we prefer to get files in .dwg, .dxf, or .pdf format. We use Autocad files for dimensional information and for artwork reference only. Our procedure is to translate the Autocad information for use in Adobe Illustrator.

ELECTRONIC FILES

We prefer to receive electronic files on a CD, or by e-mail. Please convert all type fonts to outlines before saving the file, or include font files for any font used in your artwork. Remember to include all embedded graphics (placed images) as well. Artwork can be send as an attachment to art@adhesaplate.com.

If you wish to upload artwork via FTP, please contact our art department at 206.682.0141, or e-mail your inquiry to art@adhesaplate.com. We can provide you with the login name and password for our FTP site.

Please compress your files using winzip (.zip) or stuffit (.sit) when sending your files via e-mail.

MECHANICAL DRAWINGS

It is always a good idea to supply a hard copy print of the image along with any electronic file so that we can ensure that the file was imported correctly.

PROOFS

Standard Line Art Proofs:

We will provide a proof for your approval prior to production. Proofs can be out by e-mail (.pdf format), fax, or mail. To view your .pdf proof sent by e-mail, you can download a free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader at www.adobe.com. The color showing on your monitor is not critical if the Pantone (PMS) color numbers are called out on our proof and your drawings, or if you are supplying a color sample for us to match to.

Custom Color Swatch Proofs:

Custom color swatch proofs can be requested prior to production if color-matching is very critical.

Part Dimensional (die-line) Proofs:

Digital cut samples of the die line can be requested prior to production if dimension of the part is critical.
